The DOVADO USB Mobile Broadband Router (UMR) allows users to insert their 3G/HSPA, CDMA or iBurstTM mobile broadband USB modem and share out their internet connection with ease via Ethernet or Wireless LAN, providing access to all their computers and wireless-enabled devices throughout the home or office. Not only is the UMR a price-competitive product that fulfills the gap between a USB modem and a local area network, but is simple to configure and reliable in performance. Offering a residential or SOHO broadband connection without wires, the UMR provides a round-the-clock connection, as one would experience with fixed broadband.
The UMR supports a number of USB modems today, and is due to be continuously firmware upgradable in order to support many more modems as they enter the market. To keep track of the list of currently supported modems, visit list of modems
In its compact desktop form, the DOVADO UMR offers a multitude of physical interfaces, these being:
4 x 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN ports
2 x USB 2.0 ports for modem connectivity (2nd port provides extra power to strengthen modem’s overall radio performance)
802.11b/g WLAN Access Point
1 x WAN port (for future use)
The UMR can be used as an all-in-one access device within a home, office or onboard a vessel/vehicle.
“Mobile operators have been incredibly successful in the introduction of USB modems, delivering broadband internet for both desktop and laptop computers alike. The value DOVADO brings to the market is to simplify the process of maximizing all the potential these modems have to offer, by providing users the ability to share this single internet access beyond one single computer throughout a home or small office environment.” says Erik Arthur, CEO of DOVADO.
